Advocating for the interests of Maine physicians and their patients before the Maine Legislature.

The MMA’s advocacy team builds relationships within the Maine Legislature to ensure that the voice of the physician is included in the health care policy debate in Maine. We are present at every step of the legislative process and work to bring the physician’s perspective to the discussion, from testifying at a public hearing to lining the hallways to advocate before a floor vote. Advocacy matters, and we are here to help you do it.

We would also love it if you signed up for the “Medical Provider of the Day” Program, a critical element of our grassroots advocacy program. Volunteering will give you a better sense of our legislators’ perception of the medical profession, the importance of developing a relationship with your legislators, and an opportunity to promote the medical profession among the state’s leaders. The “Medical Provider of the Day” is responsible for responding to health care issues among legislators, staff, or the public.
