Education / Accredited CME Provider Program / CME Surveyors
The Maine Medical Association’s Committee on Continuing Medical Education (CCMEA) is responsible for accrediting 12 organizations in Maine to provide continuing medical education. The reaccreditation process is conducted by a small group of CCMEA committee members who function as Surveyors. It is the surveyors’ primary responsibility to gather data and information related to the CME program’s compliance with the ACCME’s accreditation requirements.
The surveyor documents below are required to complete the review of reaccreditation materials. Accredited Providers may also find it useful to review these documents as they prepare their reaccreditation materials.
2025 Documentation Review Form – To be used when reviewing individual Performance-in-Practice Structured Abstracts (PIPs)
2025 Surveyor Accreditation Materials Review Form – To be used when reviewing the Self-Study Report, PIPs as a whole, and preparing for the Accreditation Interview
CCMEA Policies and Procedures (Coming Soon)
Surveyors will record and document their findings from the materials review.
Surveyors are required to complete at least 2 modules of the Recognized Accreditor Curriculum for the current year. Visit ACCME Academy to complete those modules.
The CCMEA is looking for more MMA members to join its reaccreditation team. To learn more, contact Elizabeth Ciccarelli, the Director of Continuing Medical Education.
